This magical exhibition of screenprints created by new author and illustrator of children’s books, Catherine Rayner, is a wonderful opportunity for adults and young visitors to share in discovering an enchanted world of creatures that are brimming with character and adventure.

Acting like an open-ended storybook, each image in this exhibition is a new page where the visitor encounters a different character whose natural habitat many of us take for granted.

Rayner graduated in 2004 and currently divides her time between children’s picture books, painting and printmaking. Her work recently won the ‘Early Years Best New Illustrator Award’ and she has also been short listed for the 2007 CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal which will be announced in June 2007. Her first book Augustus and his Smile, published in 2006 by Little Tiger Press, has now been translated into 7 languages and she is currently working on a further 6 children’s picture books.
