THE 2ND TRIENNALE INTERNAZIONE
D’INCISIONE, imprint is a major festival of Italian graphic art, jointly presented by Edinburgh Printmakers, the Glasgow Print Studio and the Italian Cultural Institute Edinburgh. In a unique collaboration, Edinburgh Printmakers (EP) and Glasgow Print Studio (GPS) will jointly host THE 2ND TRIENNALE INTERNAZIONE D’INCISIONE, CHIERI: an exhibition of contemporary etchings by 24 of the most respected and prestigious graphic artists working in Italy today: Nino Bacco, Emilio Baracco, Gianpaola Berto, Marina Bindella, Alberto Boschi, Andrea Carini, Gino Di Pieri, Mario Gosso, Lea Gyarmati, Aristea Kritsotaki, Andrea Lelario, Nando Luraschi, Cesco Magnolato, Enzo Maiolino, Gianluca Murasecchi, Giullia Napoleone, Guido Navaretti, Nicola Ottria, Gianfranco Quaresimin, Mario Rocca, Alberto Rocco, Mario Scarpati, Gianfranco Schialvino and Francesco Sciaccaluga. To coincide with this exhibition, The Italian Cultural Institute Edinburgh is presenting an exhibition of ETCHINGS BY GIACOMO SOFFIANTINO, considered by many to be the grandfather of contemporary Italian graphic art and a major influence on many of the artists exhibiting at EP and GPS. These exhibitions will be the only viewing in the UK and Edinburgh Printmakers will also feature works by artists who participated in the triennale as representatives of Scotland, the invited guest country, including: Elizabeth Blackadder, Christine Borland, John Byrne, Ken Currie, Stuart Duffin, Chris Evans, Jo Ganter, David Palmer, Barbara Rae, Philip Reeves, Elaine Shemilt and Adrian Wiszniewski.
