Gayle Robinson Rainshadow showers I started in November 2002 to work on my portfolio print, the winter season seemed to influence my choice of colours hence the darkness of my lithograph print. On reflection, I am convinced that if I had started during the summer, the print would have been completely different as the surrounding landscape changes so dramatically throughout the seasons. I used paper transfers and stencil techniques to explore this new medium which allowed me to combine my usual collograph process of cutting and layering shapes to make a plate for printing. After many experiments and proofs, I managed to get a combination of stones to work for my lithograph image. My current collograph prints and mixed media works are influenced by my travels around the world as well my own environment in the Scottish Borders. I have taken my inspiration from the colours, architecture, landscapes and symbols, which have influenced me on my journeys and, at home in my day-to-day life. C.V. Education
